GreenThumbTrader is thrilled to launch our new & improved site. We welcome new members, and want to extend a HUGE thank you to the 800+ existing members who've made this community possible, and been so patient as we've transitioned to the new site.
If you're new here, congratulations! You've just found the ultimate FREE garden club. We are a community of local garden enthusiasts who just like you, spend a lot of time pruning, and pulling extras out of our landscape. GreenThumbTrader is the result of one gardener realizing she'd really rather give those plants a new home, than just dispose of them. This site exists solely to give & recieve free plants. (although you will find other garden related goodies at times) ALL THE PLANT POSTINGS ARE FREE. MEMBERSHIP TO THE SITE IS FREE!  There is no catch. All you have to do is sign up, log in, and start browsing to see what members are giving away, or post your own garden extras. We do allow you to post "wanted" , we simply ask that when you do, you offer something in trade. To existing members, in order to improve site functionality , we started over from scratch. We hope you enjoy the improvements and would love to hear your feedback, just hop on over to the forum and tell us what you think! (we value your opinion for better or worse). As you can see, alot has changed. Instead of trying to make a forum function in a way that doesn't suit our needs, we have implemented an actual classified ad system for posting plants. This allows for state, county, and zip code searching which was a big hold up on the old site. Just post your free plants as ads, people can respond through the ad, through commenting, through your profile, IM, email, the flexibility is endless. All ads are free, and the plants must remain free. It's fine to look for trades, or post "wanted" , but as always if you post "wanted" please offer something in trade. We do still have a forum, and welcome community conversation there. If you feel any additional categories should be included, please let us know. Check out your new Community area. All members have a profile, which is highly customizable. Profiles link to your free plant ads, the forums and more. Check it out, we are very excited about these features! We realize the changes will take some getting used to, and please bear with us, as we do not feel the site is 100% finished. There are quite a few tweaks and additions to come..so please, keep those suggestions coming. We will work to implement any that we feel we can!
